Terms, guarantees & privacy

1. Booking & payment

• Match Call: R50, paid online by card via Paystack when you book. It reserves your tutor and is credited in full against your first paid lesson.
• Lessons: R300 per hour (pro rata for half hours), for any subject and grade.
• Card on file: When you book, you authorise us to charge the card you used, after each lesson, for that lesson's fee. Your card details are stored by Paystack, not by us. We never see your full card number.
• No contract: Stop anytime by telling us on WhatsApp. You're only ever charged for lessons that have already happened.
• Rescheduling: Please give 24 hours' notice to move a lesson. Lessons missed without notice may be charged.
• If we never get going: If we can't match you with a tutor or schedule a first lesson, we'll refund your R50.

2. Our guarantees

🛡️ Love the first lesson, or it's free. If you're not happy after your first lesson, tell us within 48 hours. You won't be charged for it, and we'll either match you with another tutor or refund your R50, your choice.

📈 Their mark goes up, or the next lesson's on us. To keep it fair for everyone:

• Your child must have had at least 3 lessons in that subject before the test or exam.
• The lessons must have covered the work in that test.
• Send us the mark from the last test before tutoring started and the new test mark (a photo is fine) within 14 days of getting the result.
• If the new mark isn't higher, your next lesson in that subject is free. You can claim this once per subject per term.

🔁 Exam-season backup tutor. If your tutor is unavailable because of their own university exams, we'll offer a backup tutor who has been briefed on your child's progress. If you'd rather wait for your usual tutor, that's fine too.

3. Safety

• All lessons are online (Google Meet or Zoom). Parents are welcome to sit in on any lesson.
• We'll record any lesson on request and share the recording only with you.
• Tutors communicate with parents directly. Please let us know if you'd prefer your child not to receive messages from the tutor.

4. Privacy (POPIA)

We collect only what we need to tutor your child and get paid: your name, email and WhatsApp number, your child's first name, grade, curriculum, subjects and anything you choose to tell us.

• It's used only to arrange and deliver lessons, send progress updates and process payments.
• It's shared only with your tutor and with Paystack (for payments). We never sell it.
• It's stored securely with our database provider (Supabase).
• You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time by WhatsApp or email.
